Things are good in Saratoga Springs!!!

We had 24 lessons again this week.
Its pretty hot here. Its like in the 90's - 100 I think.
The past couple day have been good because its been a little stormy it rained 3 times this week that was really cool. I got to see rain here for the first time I think last week!

I've been thinking about a couple people that I need to write I'm hoping some one at home can help me get in touch with them. Ashley and Donovan Hockett from Bellingham 3rd ward. Maria R. from the YSA singles ward, Ethan Harlan said that he was gonna write me in spanish. some of these people are also facebook friends.

So in my mission a district in the south has been piloting Ipads and Iphones so basically everything is electronic and they're hoping that by the fall the rest of the mission will have the new technology that they were talking about in the Work of Salvation broadcast. If you haven't seen the Broadcast you should definitely watch it. its on LDS.org and its council from Prophets so its important!

I always sit down to write this email and I never know what exactly to write, my companions is next to me typing like a fiend but I'm just a little lost.

I'm pretty sure that all the letters you all are sending are getting lost in the post because I have gotten one letter since being here in Saratoga Springs. :)

I appreciate all the prayers and emails love you all!

Monday July 8th

Hey! Things are going great in Saratoga Spring Utah! Even though my campanion is really different than me I can see how she compliments me and I really have a lot to learn from her. One thing she is really good at is talking to everyone, and our campanionship found 5 new investigators!  People tell me my spanish is good for being out in the field 8 weeks, I'm trying to just keep reading in spanish as much as possible. Its difficult when you are with a companion that speaks english because we can cheat and speak english. I think if we speak only spanish to eachother that would bless our companionship a lot. We've got 1 really solid investigator he's talking about his baptisim everytime we see him and we get to take him to a baptisim on Saturday the 13th we are so exciting. This will be the first baptisim that I have taught.

We had interviews with the Mission President. I really needed it. Our mission president is so inspired. I've been really worried about a few things and he really put my worries to rest. We have a family here and is going through some really big trials. Their son has 2 life sentances in prison and the from what I've heard he's innocent and they've got a witness but she's got pretty serious health problems and he's got a public deffender. Things aren't looking good, and because of that they have stopped coming to church and are pretty depressed. We've tried to share messages about faith, hope, perservering but nothing seems to help. We talked to the bishop and hopefully they will be able to get the help that they need.

Its been pretty warm here near the 100's and the past 2 days it rained!!! Its the first time it rained here since I have been here and It was great! I forgot how great the rain smells.

I love all the sun here. We were helping an investigator with a little bit of yard work and she had her baby's clothes hung out in the sun. She said that when baby clothes get soiled that if you wash them and then hang them out in the sun that the SUN(or the SON) with actually help take the stains out of the clothes! That's pretty sweet! We get to go to the temple this Tuesday and we have exchanges this wednesday! Super fun, its like a super fun sleep over!

Please keep my family in your prayers.

I started reading Jesus the Christ when I started my mission, I think I might be done with it when I finish my mission. Its pretty much just like reading scriptures, sometimes I wonder what I'm really understanding. I just finished the Book of Mormon in English again and I have got to start reading it in spanish. I have started reading it in spanish about 5 times but I always loose my place, good excuse right?

My companion and I taught 24 lessons last week that one lesson short of the mission standard. We were pretty exciteded but we need to actually achieve the mission standard not just get close. When I talked to the mission pres he told me to stop being so hard on myself. He said that we are only here to help the people in the Provo Mission do missionary work we aren't here to go it for them. This week we've placed at least 10 books of Mormon some in english and some in spanish! We've got lots of good stuff going on here! Please remember my companion in your prayers, she's so sweet!  I appreciate all your love and support!!!! PS I love getting mail!

Spending Time with Family Before Entering the MTC

Katie went to Salt Lake City a few days before she entered the MTC so that she could spend some time with her family.

They had a family dinner with her family that lives in Utah.

Sister Wright was able to attend the Salt Lake Temple while she was there.  She was very excited about doing this!  Im happy that she was able to attend with her Aunt and Grandma.

The next day (Wednesday) April 3rd,  Sister Wright got ready to enter the MTC.  They went and did a little shopping at the Sister Missionary Mall:

After a little bit of shopping, there was lunch!

After lunch more family pictures in front of the Provo Temple
